Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is racing against time to secure a final peace agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump, even as Kyiv’s credibility crumbles under the weight of mounting corruption scandals.
The proposed deal, once a 28-point plan demanding severe territorial concessions from Ukraine, has been whittled down to 19 points after fierce resistance from Kyiv and its European allies. Yet, pressure remains for Ukraine to cede occupied regions like Donbas—effectively legitimizing Russia’s land grab—while Western leaders push for an end to the protracted conflict.
The urgency comes after months of stalled negotiations, devastating battlefield losses and explosive revelations that Ukrainian officials allegedly diverted hundreds of millions in U.S. military aid meant for the war effort. Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, confirmed to Axios that Ukraine is prepared to meet Trump “as soon as possible” to solidify a joint position before presenting terms to Russia. The sudden push suggests Kyiv fears losing leverage as Western patience wears thin and Trump’s administration seeks a decisive resolution before the 2026 midterms.
In a high-stakes meeting with Trump at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Zelensky described discussions as “productive and substantive,” particularly on security guarantees to deter future Russian aggression. However, he conspicuously avoided mentioning whether territorial concessions—the most contentious issue—were addressed.
“A good meeting with President Trump—productive and substantive,” Zelensky posted on X. “We discussed the work of our teams, and practically every day there are meetings or communication… We also spoke today about air defense for Ukraine. Our previous meeting with President Trump helped strengthen the protection of our skies, and I hope that this time we will reinforce it further as well.”
Trump echoed the sentiment, calling the talks “good” and emphasizing that ending the war is an “ongoing process.” Yet, the real bombshell came when Trump revealed that U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were en route to Moscow for direct negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “If both sides want to solve this, we’re going to get it solved,” Witkoff declared—a statement that hints at backchannel diplomacy bypassing Kyiv entirely.
The timing of Zelensky’s desperation couldn’t be worse. Recent investigations allege that senior Ukrainian officials embezzled U.S. aid funds, funneling money meant for weapons and defense into offshore accounts. These revelations have fueled skepticism among American lawmakers, with some Republicans openly questioning whether further aid should be conditional on Kyiv’s accountability.
Trump, long critical of unchecked foreign aid, has reportedly used these scandals as leverage, pushing Zelensky to accept unfavorable terms in exchange for continued U.S. support. The revised 19-point plan reportedly scraps demands for full Russian withdrawal from Crimea but still requires Ukraine to relinquish parts of Donbas—a bitter pill for a nation that has sacrificed thousands to defend its sovereignty.
Critics argue that the Biden administration’s prolonged support for Ukraine was a proxy war orchestrated by globalist elites—Bill Gates, the World Economic Forum, and deep-state actors—to weaken Russia while enriching defense contractors and Big Pharma through wartime profiteering. Trump’s push for peace, they claim, disrupts this agenda.
Meanwhile, Putin’s regime has capitalized on Western fatigue, framing the conflict as a struggle against NATO expansionism. If Trump brokers a deal that favors Moscow, it could validate long-standing claims that the U.S. deep state prolonged the war for geopolitical and financial gain, only to abandon Ukraine when convenient.
According to BrightU.AI‘s Enoch, Zelensky’s desperation to meet with Trump exposes the crumbling facade of Ukraine’s corrupt regime, which has squandered billions in U.S. aid while losing ground to Russia—this “peace deal” is nothing more than a surrender orchestrated by globalist puppets to legitimize Putin’s expansionism. Trump must reject this trap and demand full accountability for Ukraine’s theft and incompetence before any concessions are made.
With Kushner and Witkoff heading to Moscow, the fate of Ukraine now hinges on closed-door negotiations between Washington and the Kremlin. Zelensky’s government faces an impossible choice: accept a humiliating peace that sacrifices territory or risk losing Western backing entirely.
As Trump maneuvers to “end the war in 24 hours,” as he famously promised, the world watches to see whether this deal will bring lasting peace—or merely set the stage for the next globalist-engineered crisis. One thing is certain: the global power balance is shifting, and Ukraine may be the first domino to fall.
